Marrakech, 7th best city to visit in 2022

Marrakech is the 7th best city in the world in 2022. This is what emerges from the ranking of the Time Out Index, an annual survey of city dwellers around the world conducted by Time Out Group, a global media and hospitality company.

According to the survey, Marrakech has emerged from the pandemic with a new lease on life. "The city has long been known as an international melting pot, but containment has created space for local entrepreneurs to flex their muscles by opening cool new stores and restaurants," it says.

Also, the survey continues, n new international storytelling festival welcomed the city's first post-pandemic visitors in February. "No wonder visitors are eager to return.

Think of Marrakech and you almost certainly have in mind the city's crowded and bustling medina, so it's no wonder the city ranks so highly for getting to know its neighbors (68%, the highest in the world) and 70% for making new friends, the survey says.

It should be noted that Marrakech comes in behind Prague, Amsterdam, Glasgow, Medellin, Chicago and Edinburgh, ranked 6th, 5th, 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st best city in the world respectively. Berlin, Montreal and Copenhagen close the top 10 ranking and occupy 8th, 9th and 10th place respectively.
